march the 7th
Argh.
I feel guilty about not posting an entry yesterday. Oh well.
Friday
School sucked. Nothing was interesting. No cool conversations. I didn't meet anyone new. Just talked to a few people to see what was going on during the weekend. It was just damn boring. Plus, I couldn't get the though of spring break out of my head. Oh yeah. Finally. A week of doing nothing.
Once classes were finished, I went home immediately to take a short nap, as I was expecting to stay up the whole night, once my friends had returned from their respective educational establishments (*laugh* to those that understand). I was awakened at about 6 in the evening by my great friend Gem, who informed me that she would be home soon. I could hear Allie and Susan in the background screaming something about meeting them later tonight. I told Gem I'd be over at her house at 7:45, because that's around the time she was gonna get home, and that I needed to do a few errands.
I went back to sleep.
I got up at around 7:20 and decided that it was about time to get ready. I washed my face and brushed my teeth - after all I should look semi-presentable around my friends. I was just about to get ready to go when my father stepped into the house.
For the past week my dad and I have been getting along quite well. We would joke around and talk about similar interests, but you have to understand this really never was common or habitual in our relationship. While growing up my father and I always had major differences of opinion. We never got along. We always argued. Of course, there would be the semi-touching/kodak moments where we would do something together, but for the most part I tried to stay away from my dad because I knew the more contact I had with him, the greater chance there would be of us arguing.
Anyhow, he comes home and starts bitching to me out of fucking nowhere about how it was 7:30 and I hadn't eaten, and didn't even cook anything for my sister. Gees-us. First of all, my sister had already eaten, and second of all, I was going out soon and was gonna eat there. I told him this and he still remained angry. This highly irritated me. I left the house without saying goodbye.
I got to Gem's house and I gave her a great big hug. I hadn't seen her since New Years, when I held a huge party and she was there. It was good to see her. We caught up, and I asked her if she was still having problems with her significant other. Bad mistake. She went off and off about how she was pissed, and he had better page her, because he was only gonna be in our area for an hour before he went down to Florida for his spring break. I didn't really mind hearing all of this, actually I enjoyed it, but once Gem gets going, she gets going.
Slowly this conversation dwindled away into other things as we waited for Jacob, another good friend of mine, to come by. He lived a few houses down, so Gem and I decided to jump into the trusty Randall-mobile and drive in front of his house and wait for him to exit his front door. Now that I think of it, that was pretty pathetic. Why didn't we just knock on his front door? We were dumb that night. Eyesh.
Soon Jacob joined our little get together in my car, where we debated where we should go. Then Gem got a page from Allie. Apparently her and Susan were gonna meet up with us, which they did. Once we were all together, we drove down to Steve's house. Steve is Gem's significant other.
We got there, and it was pretty groovy. A few people from our old high school were there, as well as a few of Steve's friends from his college, as they were going to be his companions down in Florida. We stayed there for a good hour just goofing off, when we said our farewells and safe travels to Steve, and obviously Gem had to hook up with Steve. Well, I didn't actually see this, but it can be automatically assumed.
After all that we went back to Gem's house were we bought two pizza's and watched that lame ass "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" movie. I freaked out when I suddenly realized that Rutger Hauer was in it. That was real cool. Then we watched "Mo' Money". That was a bit better, but for some reason I remembered it being a lot funnier when I first watched it. Oh well.
Allie and Susan left after that movie, leaving just me, Gem and Jacob. Then the evening took a strange, but cool turn.
Saturday
By this time it had already passed the midnight point, so it was Saturday. Both Gem and Jacob are good friends of mine, so it didn't really bother me when we started talking about sex. I think this all started when we "accidentally" clicked onto Cinemax, which was showing a real high class version of a porno (yeah right, accidentally!). Well, we started talking about all sorts of different sexual topics, such as different scenarios, positions, turn-ons, turn-offs. I don't think we'll ever forget about Fish Fingers.
What, you want to know more? Tough luck, I ain't gonna tell ya! :)
I felt really good leaving Gem's house that night. The three of us (Gem, Jacob and I) had connected well that night and had one of the best conversations I had had in a long time. Oh, and we did talk about other things beyond sex, so don't think it was *too* entertaining *laugh*.
I was gonna write a journal entry when I got home, but when I realized that it was 4 in the morning, I decided not to, since I had to work today.
Sleep was sufficient, but not refreshing. And I didn't get any dreams. Phew.
I got up at about noon, as I had to be in at work at 1. I dressed in my usual work attire - black corduroys and a green polo shirt with a black t-shirt underneath. Once at work I did the usual. Avoided Pat (my boss) and put books away. What fun! I managed to joke around a little bit with my co-workers, and even with Pat. I guess that fact that it was Pat's birthday helped a bit.
At around 4 I got my lunch break, where I met up with Gem, Jacob and another one of my good friends, Isaac. Isaac wasn't on his spring break yet, but he was home because it was his father's 50th birthday. It was good to see Isaac, as I hadn't seen him for awhile. I was gonna go to the same college that he attends now, but at around the second week into my classes there my father fell ill, so I had to withdraw and take care of him. Anyhow, we went to Chik-A-Fil and got lunch.
It was cool. The gang was home. It was like old times.
It's funny how you can start missing the security of your good friends, but once everyone is back home, it's like nothing changed. Of course there are always small differences as separate people develop in other ways due to the different experiences we all have, but when we are together we all just get along. And that is so cool. And even though there is nothing to do in this god-forsaken town, we can still hang out, doing absolutely nothing, and still have a pretty decent time. That's when you know you've found good friends - when you guys can just pick up the pace from where you left off, even though you haven't seen each other for awhile. I'm pretty lucky to have found a few of my own.
Work ended quickly - there were four people closing. Right after work I over to Isaac's house. During the summer it was like my second house. I enjoy being over their house - Isaac's parent's are cool, as are his sisters and his brother, although they all have this thing with arguing with each other. At some times it gets annoying, but it's humorous more than anything else. Jacob came over after a little bit and we hung out (once again doing nothing). It was still cool. There was some chick who was there and she was pretty good looking. I believe she was a friend of Isaac's family, but I don't really remember. She was pleasant enough to talk to, but Isaac claims that she is a super goody-goody, a no-no in his book. Whatever that means. *laugh* He didn't think she was pretty at all, but I thought she was. She had looks. Jacob seemed to agree with me.
Well, that's what pretty much happened the first half of this weekend. I assume the rest is yet to come.
Sunshine friends suck - get rid of them.
